Rolling Mill

Our rolling mill staff is well versed in rolling difficult-to-process materials such as tantalum, niobium, molybdenum, titanium, uranium – as well as metal matrix composites.

Specialty Rolling Capabilities

We utilize pack rolling to roll sheets as thin as 0.004 inches. This process stacks multiple sheets of material together, separated by a release agent to prevent roll bonding during processing. Our pack rolling technology has successfully been used to roll beryllium, aluminum, uranium, titanium and other molybdenum alloys.

Salt Bath

We also provide a salt bath to preheat selected materials prior to rolling.

Preheating Furnaces

We provide one gas-fired and three electric furnaces for preheating ingots prior to hot or warm rolling.

  • Operates at Max Temperature of 2500° Fahrenheit
  • Capable of Heating Several tons per hour to Rolling Temperature
  • Electric Furnaces (GE Electric Furnace; 2 Lindberg Electric Furnaces)
    • Max Temperature of 2000° Fahrenheit
    • Used for Ingot Preheating or Product Heat Treatment

Vacuum Heat Treat Furnaces

We have the capability to vacuum heat treat material up to 40” wide by 15’ long — with inert gas quenching capabilities as well.

  • Operates at a Maximum Temperature of 750° Celsius
  • Capable of Preheating 6 tons per hour to Rolling Temperature
